Frequently asked questions

Is the fog harmful to people or pets?

The product disperses quickly. We ask residents to close windows, keep children and pets indoors during the session and for about half an hour after, and to cover outdoor food and water. Anyone with respiratory conditions should avoid the fog while it is visible.

How often should a society fog?

During peak dengue season, from August to November in Lahore, weekly or fortnightly sessions keep adult numbers down. Outside peak season monthly is usually enough. We propose a schedule based on the area and its history.

Does fogging alone control dengue?

No. Fogging kills adult mosquitoes but not the larvae in standing water. It must be paired with removing or treating breeding sites, which is why we report every standing-water point we find and offer larval treatment as part of the programme.
