What this service actually involves
In a Lahore summer a bare concrete roof soaks up sun all day and radiates heat into the rooms below well into the night, which is why the top floor is always the hottest and the AC never seems to catch up. Roof heatproofing applies a white, highly reflective elastomeric coating in multiple coats over a cleaned and primed roof. It reflects most of the sunlight instead of absorbing it, adds a modest insulating layer, and, because it is also water-resistant, gives a degree of protection against light seepage. Owners typically notice a clear drop in ceiling temperature and lower cooling bills. It can be applied over an existing waterproofing membrane or as a combined waterproofing and heatproofing system.

How much cooler will the rooms be?
It depends on the roof, the building and how much sun it takes, so we do not promise a fixed number. Owners generally report that the top-floor ceiling is noticeably cooler to the touch and that the AC reaches its set temperature sooner. We are happy to show you before-and-after surface readings on your own roof.
Does it also stop leaks?
It is water-resistant and helps with light seepage, but it is not a substitute for proper waterproofing on a leaking roof. If the roof leaks, we fix that first and then heatproof over it, or use a combined system.
How long does the coating last?
Several years with basic care. The main enemy is dust: a dirty surface reflects less, so a wash-down before each summer keeps it effective. Recoating is straightforward when the time comes.
