What this service actually involves
Raised ridges across the lawn, soft spots underfoot, uprooted plants and, with shrews, a strong musky smell inside the house are the signs. Moles tunnel for insects and worms; shrews (chhachhundar) come indoors after cockroaches and other insects and are often mistaken for rats. The treatment is different from rodent control. We locate the active runs, set traps in them and treat the burrow system, and for shrews indoors we combine this with an insect treatment to remove their food. Follow-up visits check the traps and confirm the runs are no longer active. For large lawns and farms we advise on an ongoing programme rather than a one-off visit.
We do not publish dilution rates or dosages online. The correct quantity depends on the approved product label and on what the inspector finds at your property, and your applicator will confirm both before any chemical is mixed.

Is it a rat or a shrew?
Shrews have a long pointed snout, tiny eyes and a musky smell, and they eat insects rather than stored food. Rats gnaw packaging and leave larger droppings. We confirm on inspection, and it matters because the treatment is different.
Will the lawn recover?
Yes. Once the runs are inactive, ridges can be flattened and reseeded. We advise doing this after the follow-up visit confirms the tunnels are no longer in use.
Is the treatment safe around children and pets?
Traps are set inside the runs below ground and burrow treatments are placed into the tunnels, not on the surface. We show you where every trap is and ask that children and pets are kept off treated areas until we have collected them.
