Frequently asked questions

Which sealant do you use in the bathroom and kitchen?

A mould-resistant silicone in wet areas around sinks, baths and showers, and a paintable acrylic sealant on dry joints such as skirting and window frames. Pipe entries get foam or mesh backing before sealing so rodents cannot chew through.

How long before the sealant can get wet?

Silicone should be left to cure for about 24 hours before the sink or shower is used. Acrylic joints can be painted the next day. We tell you the cure time for each area before leaving.

Does sealing really help with pests?

A great deal. Cockroaches, ants, lizards and mice all enter through gaps, and a treatment lasts far longer when the entry points are closed. Sealing is included as an option with our pest treatments for that reason.
